Welcome to
East Kimberley Tours
Discover the World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park  (Bungle Bungle) with East Kimberley Tours.

For over thirty years, the multi-award winning East Kimberley Tours (EKT) has been showcasing the World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle) to visitors to the Kimberley region adding a depth of experience like no other. EKT aims to offer ecologically sustainable touring and accommodation with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that fosters environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation.

What started as a 2 or 3 day camping tour from Warmun (Turkey Creek), has now grown over the years into a multi-faceted, multi-award-winning business that offers fly/drive tours as well as accommodated options within the Park at the East Kimberley Tours Bungle Bungle Bushcamp.

Working with local aviation companies, East Kimberley Tours enable visitors to take a spectacular scenic flight from Kununurra over the Ord River, Lake Argyle, Lissadel and Texas Downs Stations and Osmand Ranges to the magnificent Purnululu National Park and its extraordinary sandstone beehive shaped domes. On landing, visitors then join a 4WD tour to the Northern or Southern gorges within the park, take a helicopter flight or even stay in one of their cabins or safari tents for a night or two before flying back to Kununurra either over or landing at and joining a ground tour of the world's largest diamond mine, Argyle Diamonds.

The EKT Bungle Bungle Bushcamp is located in the Bellburn area of the Park and has been designed to fit within the natural surrounds.

Initially in 1992, the camp in the Bungle Bungle consisted of safari-style tented accommodation and catered for twelve people. Other facilities were basic. One toilet (a long drop) and one shower. In 1994 the camp quadrupled its capacity to 48 guests and then further expansion in 1997 saw a dining/kitchen facility with the capacity to seat up to sixty diners constructed. Additionally, twelve showers, gas operated to supply hot water, plus 12 volt lighting to provide illumination in the camp after the generator is turned off at night, were installed.

Today, the camp is an oasis in the wilderness. After a long, hot and dusty drive from the Great Northern Highway (the 50kms can take three hours and is on a dirt track) or a scenic flight in a small plane from Kununurra or Halls Creek it is a welcome relief to arrive at a camp where luxury and the outback have combined.

The Bushcamp has evolved and now includes twenty double hard-walled ensuite cabins and ten twin-share safari tents with shared facilities. Staying at the Bushcamp means that visitors can enjoy hot showers, flushing toilets, indoor and outdoor dining facilities and a rustic camp fire area. This unique accommodation is not restricted to those participating in touring packages; it is also available to the self-drive market who make their own way into the national park via 4WD vehicle.

The Bungle Bungle Bushcamp can accommodate 60 guests and three meals per day are prepared in the on-site kitchen, a 'restaurant' with a difference! Also on offer is a fully licensed bar that has a range of alcoholic beverages and soft drink available.

Uniquely, in 2014, a below ground pool is to be installed at the EKT Bungle Bungle Bushcamp - adding yet another unique experience for visitors, a 60,000 litre water tank has been constructed so that no ground water will be used, only rain water to fill and maintain the pools operation.
